Deb Carpenter was set to be the original vessel for the demon, Malphas, or so the cultists thought. Everything was prepared for the ritual, but the demon rejected her. His worshippers were puzzled until it was revealed that he wanted the life that was growing inside her at that moment.Hearing this, the young mother did all she could do to save her child and that was to run like hell. She knew that would not stop them, however. Malphas was persistent and his followers would not stop going after her nor her child until he got what he wanted.So, Deb did the only thing she thought would save her child from such a horrific fate. She shortly gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl and named her Amy.Despite how badly Deb wanted to keep her, she knew that her child’s best shot in life was to give her up for adoption.Little did Deb know that Amy had been marked by Malphas from the very moment she was conceived.The child was cursed to be as cold and cruel as the demon himself.Amy was shortly adopted by a family. Todd and Stacy Hughes, and their son Kevin.From the time the girl could walk and talk, her parents believed that something was wrong with their daughter and would verbally tell her how broken and disobedient she was. Todd would call her names and swiftly whipped her with his belt whenever she spoke back.Stacy and would only watch her husband berate their daughter for the minimalistic mischief Amy got herself into, but never had the courage to speak up. Instead she turned to the comfort of alcohol and hoped that would drown her problems instead.But her brother was the worst.Since the moment Amy was brought in, Kevin was jealous of her. The boy couldn’t understand why his parents had gotten another child when they have him. So her brother was relentlessly cruel to his young sister. He often told her how she never belonged in the family and would often push her and lock her into a closet just to get rid of her. The child would scream and cry for hours and Kevin was never punished for his cruelty.The poor child would endure such daily punishment until nightfall. It is around that time where Amy felt the most safe. That was because there would be a soft voice that murmured in her ear each night. He would tell her how special she actually was and that, in time, her family will pay for their actions.And in time, they did.The night before, the voice granted Amy a vision after a sincere promise of freedom. Said vision gave her the inspiration to turn up the fireplace the next day, for the chimney hasn’t been cleaned for so long as her father had been neglecting it. It was the perfect opportunity…Kevin ended up tricking and locking up Amy in the garage this time before he went to bed. Ironically this made Amy the safest as the garage was the most vented area.Amy was awoken by a first responder and soon discovered that her father, her mother, and her brother were all dead. The authorities thought nothing more of it than a tragic accident. No one suspects a ten year old as a murderer.For the rest of her childhood and teenage years, Amy was put into the fostering system. Those years were hell, but they were nowhere near as bad as enduring another day with her family.The voice never left her, and again it promised her of all the things she desired the most: freedom, acceptance, and a home to call her own.Occasionally the voice granted her dreams of a large lake surrounded by a thick, green forest.It never failed to make her feel at peace.When her senior year of high school came along, she befriended a girl named Margot. In the matter of months, the two had gotten very close. Towards graduation, Margot eventually introduces the idea to work at a summer camp together.Camp Stillwater.So, the two apply to be counselors.
Something stirred in Amy as summer approached. The voice was no longer just visiting her nightly, it was beckoning her consistently to those campgrounds.One weekend, she decides to make her way to the camp and for the first time in her life, she felt as though she was home…This place was where she belonged. With her eyes on the large lake, it immediately clicked why it felt this way: it was the exact place in the dreams she was given.Amy knew that this was not a coincidence. Finally, finally something in her life made sense, and it was all thanks to Margot for pushing her to apply.Shortly Amy was visited by the camp director, Deb Carpenter. (Neither of the two knew who the other was at this time.)The woman questioned who she was and why she was here. Amy responded with her name and mentioned how excited she was to work at such a beautiful place.That is when Amy noticed Deb’s features appear apologetic. It turned out that the position for counselors was entirely filled, but if someone dropped out she would be the first to be notified.She was distraught of this news. Her home, her one dream was ripped away from her at that moment… So close and yet so far. As if she would allow that to happen. An idea came to her head. The only other person she knew of that was to be a counselor was none other than her best friend, Margot.Best friend or not, she wasn’t going to let anyone stand in her way of the one thing she’s been searching for her whole life.A sacrifice Amy was more than willing to make.She convinced Margot that they should go to a big party that was happening in their neighborhood that very night. Just when Amy loses Margot into the sea of their peers, she sneaks into the bathroom and calls the cops about a domestic disturbance. Before they arrive, Amy happens to find Margot. The two see the flashing red and blue lights. Margot, fearing for her future, fled up the stairs and Amy, seemingly looking just as panicked, followed. The two had locked themselves into a bedroom and Margot was desperately trying to open the window. Unexpectedly the window swung open after too many hits. She nearly falls out but Amy grabs her by the wrist.At first Margot thought that she was saved, but as Amy wasn’t pulling her up, the girl knew that this would be the end. Amy’s eyes once filled with warmth and light, were dark and cold as she suddenly released her grip, and sent Margot to her demise.Her neck snapped on the harsh impact of the ground, and therefore, led an opening to the position at the camp.When she finally arrived, the voice finally introduced itself as Malphas. The two would converse telepathically throughout. Eventually the demon revealed to Amy of her destiny: to free him and become his vessel.The two came to an instant understanding of one another, for both have suffered by being confined for far too long. It was time for the world to pay for how poorly they have been treated. It was time for both of them to be set free.Amy agreed and Malphas instructed her exactly what she needed to do in order to prepare for the ritual — which included several location specific sacrifices.No one suspected a thing with Amy, despite her being the heart of the camp. She always managed to find the perfect opportunity to murder those around her.Once possessed, her coworkers did all they could to save the “poor, pure, sweet Amy”, and much to their efforts, they thought they did after performing an exorcism.But oh… they were so wrong.Malphas was still lurking inside of her and revealed one last thing to Amy before they could leave the camp: the identity of her mother.Enraged by the news, Amy goes to confront Deb by swinging an axe right into her stomach. She abandoned her! She gave her up! She was the one that sent her to that awful family! She was the cause of her suffering!
Amy took out all her pain and anger into every swing until the woman was chopped into pieces.The remaining counselors quickly discovered that the demon was not dead. Far from it.
And to their horror, Amy was behind all of it. The whole time, she was willingly working with Malphas.They had no choice but to stop her and finish off the demon once and for all. After managing to trap and weaken the demon, they do just that. With a swing of Amy’s own axe through her skull, she and Malphas were finished, and the cursed campgrounds were finally closed for good.Or so the remaining survivors thought…The ritual. They unknowingly completed it, for the last step was to die and to be reborn as powerful as ever. She and the demon tricked them once again.Amy and Malphas merged as one being and she was no longer a mere human but a demoness gifted with the same high ranking abilities as he.Malphas still exists, however, as a constant companion in her mind.She wasted no time in reopening Stillwater as the official camp director.Every summer she returns to the campgrounds to perform their annual duties, (and more sacrifices.) She also guards the hellmouth that is located in the depths of the lake.To this day she is now tasked in serving the foretold antichrist and plays a major role in setting the upcoming apocalypse in motion.

He performed forbidden rituals and made pacts with demonic entities, including the malevolent demon known as Malphas.In his quest for power, Holyoke conducted a ritual at the grounds unknowingly opening a gateway to the underworld. This allowed Malphas to infuse the forest grounds with his dark presence, creating a nexus of evil. The energy of the lake and the surrounding forest became corrupted, serving as conduits for the demonic forces to thrive.Over the years, Lake Stillwater became a site of tragedy and malevolence. Unexplained accidents, mysterious disappearances, and instances of violence plagued the camp.
